Teddy McKrell is a singer-songwriter with classical voice training and experience with guitar, piano, and ukulele. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Bard College, where she studied classical vocal performance, electronic music, and ethnomusicology.
Her stage debut was at 8 weeks old as a baby fairy in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe. She has since performed with a number of different companies, including the Durham Savoyards and the White Iris Light Opera Company at Meredith College. Teddy is also a member of the Oakwood Waits, an a capella caroling group that performed at the White House last holiday season.
Teddy has also written and recorded music for a number of personal and collaborative projects. Her song “Medusa” was featured as the opening song for the podcast Mount Olympus University, and her cover of Sufjan Stevens’ “John My Beloved” appeared in the fan mash-up album Six Swans. In 2020, Teddy released a self-titled EP of covers and original songs that is now available on all major streaming platforms.
