Kasumi attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and graduated with a major in Contemporary Writing and Production. She started piano at age four through Yamaha’s program in Japan and continues playing today. In elementary school, she started learning the trumpet and it quickly became her main instrument.

Kasumi has composed music for video and media projects in Japan and currently plays trumpet with The Raleigh Concert Band. In addition to music, she teaches Japanese language and mathematics to bilingual students, and she is passionate about supporting each student’s growth.

Kasumi teaches piano, voice, ukulele, and trumpet.
