Fernando began his musical journey playing baritone saxophone in middle school and continued on to play saxophones in his high school’s marching, concert, and jazz bands. Later, he studied Communications and History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his time there, Fernando also took music theory classes while learning guitar and piano.
Currently, Fernando is in the triangle area band “The Hourglass Kids” where he acts as a vocalist, songwriter, and saxophonist. The band plays a wide-array of genres spanning from rock and reggae to jazz and hip-hop with a strong focus on improvisation.
Beyond music, he enjoys writing, doing video work, and values helping people fulfill their artistic voices.
Fernando teaches saxophone, piano, guitar, and ukulele.
