Daniel, a native of North Carolina hailing from Hickory, began his musical journey early on, picking up the piano, drums, and guitar during his elementary school years. In middle school, he joined the school band as a tuba player and explored bass guitar with the jazz ensemble.
In high school, he moved to the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. There, he continued playing the tuba in the wind ensemble and, with friends from Governor’s School, formed a punk band where he took on the role of drummer.
Upon completing high school, Daniel pursued a double major in Music and Psychology at UNC Chapel Hill, graduating with honors in 2023. Beyond academics, he has been an active singer, drummer, and songwriter for his band, “The Hourglass Kids,” since 2019.
Daniel values music as both a creative outlet and a tool for mental well-being. As an educator, his goal is to help students develop their unique relationships with music and work towards their personal musical goals, whatever they may be.
Daniel teaches drums, piano, guitar, bass, and ukulele.
